Pics and videos

Just had to share a few new pics and most specifically videos b/c Sofia's been a lot more talkative lately :)

One pic is of our new friends from a new mom's group we go to every Tuesday. We've been going to that every week and have also started stroller kickboxing to get outside and get back into shape! The other pic was Sofie's first walk at Lake Summerset with her new summer hat!

The videos are from the past couple of days. She actually knows my face and Mike's and it's so amazing to have her look at us and smile!

Enjoy...

One Month Old!

So I decided to keep on blogging so anyone who wants to can keep up with little SofieLu and her crazy parents' lives can. I mean... who wouldn't want to hear all about explosive poops, midnight feedings and leaking boobs?

So, the first month has FLOWN by. She is actually now five weeks and I can't believe it. I really wish the last five weeks of my pregnancy had gone by this fast. Not fair at all.

She's amazing. Truly a perfect baby! She's absolutely precious and changing every single day. At her one month appointment, she weighed 10 lbs, 6 oz (gained two pounds!) and was 22 3/4 inches long. Growing so much already! From the beginning, we have only had a few "bad" nights and in comparison to what I've heard from other parents they aren't bad at all. At night she sleeps in spurts of 4-6 hours and last night she slept from 12:30-8! As I said, she is amazing ;) There is no way our next child is going to be this good!

She is making more noises, starting to coo, and smiling lots more - especially in the morning. For two people who were not morning people before, she has made us morning people b/c we can't help but beam when she beams at us.

We (Sofia and I) get out a few times a week. We joined a couple of playgroups and get out for walks when it's nice out. We've been shopping a couple of times and I'm getting the hang of the whole breastfeeding in public thing. After going through labor, your sense of modesty goes out the window a little bit but I'm certainly not whipping it out for all to see!

We think Baxter does love Sofia already and is taking his new ranking in the house in stride. He gets a little needy at times but also sits close to her when he can and seems to be protecting her. He loves to smell her and gets very concerned when she cries. He follows us around the house if she's crying and when she's OK, he's OK. Super cute. He still gets his walks and playtimes and of course cuddling and loving. He's been great and that is an enormous relief!

It should be no surprise that Mike is an incredible father. He is so great with Sofie and loves just holding her. He's super helpful with late night/early morning diaper changes and taking care of both of us before it's time to eat. I just love watching the love he has for her b/c it's evident in how he looks at her, talks to her, and holds her. He also has a song he sings to her every morning!

It's been a wonderful month and I don't even remember what life was like before Sofia. She is such a blessing and motherhood is everything everyone said and so much more. It's truly what I believe I was born to do. I can't be more thankful for her and our new family.

As I get a few minutes here and there I will keep up the blog but it all depends on my new boss Sofie and what she lets me do! :)

Here are a few fun pics and a video!
