Sofia had her two month check up yesterday. I was more traumatized than her, based on the fact she had to get three shots! I went in with a huge knot in my stomach and cried right along with her when she got her shots. :( Dad came with us and was an awesome support (definitely more for me). She was already smiling again when we got out to the lobby of the dr. office but I was still shell shocked for a little longer. It sucked but sooo happy it's over! No side effects besides super sleepiness all day yesterday and a little more fussy last night so no problems.
Just to give an update:
She is 12 lbs, 14 oz! (up from 8 lbs. 6 oz at birth) and that puts her in the 90th percentile. Looking at her roly poly legs you can see all that wonderful weight gain! She got her Mama's Michelin Man legs, as my mother so lovingly nicknamed me at that age :)
She is 24 1/4 long and in the 95th percentile. (Basketball or volleyball player??? Mike says soccer of course... maybe ballerina??? who knows!)
Her head is 40 1/2 cm, also in the 90th percentile. Big melon like her parents but at least it's in proportion with her body!
We are so happy that she's growing so well and every day making us laugh and keeping us entertained. She's such a smiley happy girl and is just starting the beginnings of laughing herself. She loves looking at herself in the mirror and her favorite thing is looking at Mommy and Daddy. Apparently we are funny! She is also talking so much - cooing and gurgling and really trying to have conversations with us. So far she's been a great sleeper as well so we know we are blessed!
That's all for now, more pics and updates to come. Happy weekend!

Changes...
So, some very big changes have come our way and I am over the moon to be able to share the news... I am officially a stay at home mom now!
I had planned to go back to work before Sofia was born but after she came into our world and turned it upside down, things changed a little bit. Once I met her and spent all of this time with her I realized this is what I was meant to do - my heart told me this was the job for me. I am also extremely fortunate to have a husband who supports that 100% and actually said he "didn't think he even wanted me to go back to work" (and that is a direct quote!). Once he said that, I was pretty sure this was going to be our decision for good. It was a nervewracking decision and is still a little surreal but I know we're going to make this work and be a happier family overall because of it. There is no doubt in our minds that this is what is best for us right now and it feels so wonderful to look at Sofia and know that I made the right choice. No doubt.
I made all of my calls and made the word official at work. I was terrified but the outpouring of support has been incredible. People really do understand the draw of raising a child and how hard of a decision it is to leave a job to do it. My boss was amazing, along with everyone else I had to tell. All of that heartburn over making "the call" was for nothing! One quote I will never forget was in an email from one of the partners that said : "Congratulations on your decision. I am sure it was a difficult one – and one your daughter will be forever grateful for." Those words will definitely stick with me. I will definitely be sad to leave, but so excited to be a full time mother and wife :) Deloitte was a fabulous place to work and who knows, maybe one day I'll go back.
I will certainly look forward to this journey we are on and can't wait to enter this new and challenging chapter in our lives.
On that note, here are some more adorable photos of Sofia!
