BUSY!

It's been a month since I've posted so I will try and stick to the highlights. This is really tough because so much has happened with Sofie's growth in the past month! I like to think I've spent the last month just taking it all in so much that I've forgotten to document it all. I think it's a combo of that and the fact that I am just a terrible procrastinator.

Sofia is changing so incredibly fast these days. Today she woke up from her nap and I asked Mike if she seemed older! Seriously... too fast I tell you! She has really developed in to a little person and she has quite the personality. I feel like once she started crawling, she just went into overdrive in development. She's now pulling up and standing on everything. She races across the floors, looking for what she can get into next. Her favorite thing to get into in our living room are the DVDs. She likes to take them all out of the shelf and toss them around the floor. Thank goodness for her new playroom!

She's also very vocal now. Sometimes we feel like she's yelling at us like "don't you understand what I am saying?!?!" She clearly knows what points she's trying to get across and thinks we should too. Along with that, she's extremely social. When we were in Houston, we did a lot of eating lunch/dinner out and she spent most of her time hanging off the side of her high chair talking and waving at every person walking by. I have no idea where she got that extreme extroversion from....

We obviously took another trip to Houston which was so wonderful. Mike had to work All-Star and had 3 games so Sofie and I headed off to TX to thaw out for a bit. She is such a great traveler and stayed on routine and slept just like home. WHEW! We even took a road trip to Dallas to have some girl time and she was a major trooper. Awesome time - she makes it easy for us to make frequent trips which is so great!

Some other cute/funny anecdotes:

Mike and I had family in town and had to spend the night in her room. This was a surprise to her until she stood up in her crib the next morning and saw us. She pulled up and I just saw her eyes light up and she said "MAMA!" sooooo excited! She then reached over and grabbed her monkey blanky and forgot she wasn't holding on and proceeded to face plant. Unphased. Mike and I woke up cracking up. In Houston since we share a room, I pretty much always woke up to her standing up in excitement as well. Super adorable and funny!

She gives kisses now when we ask (sometimes) but the best is when she gives them when you don't ask. It seems like her way of saying "I love you" b/c she does it at the most random times and it's the sweetest most touching thing.

She is now saying "a book", "duck" (Dah), "bye bye" (ba ba), "ball" (ba), num num. Her favorite word still seems to be "BACA" for Baxter. She was saying his name the whole time we were in Houston, actually. So funny.

Lastly, Mike had a wonderful daddy moment the other night when I was at book club. He was giving her a bottle and when she was done, she crawled up his chest and nuzzled into his neck to go to sleep. He said it was amazing. She really is amazing. We're amazed and in awe every day. She keeps getting more and more fun and it's really just the best experience ever.

I will try really hard to update this more often so that I don't have to write such long posts!
