Big Sister

On Saturday morning we decided to start a new summer ritual.  Since we're always looking for something to do on the weekends with the kids, we figured we better start taking advantage of our family Y membership.  So, Mike and I dropped off the kids at the Kids Zone and went for a quick workout before going to pick them back up and go for a swim.  Such a fun morning!  The BEST part was that we ran into my mom and on her way out, I asked her to peek in on the kids.  So, she did and she came back up to report that Sofia was following Gabe around everywhere.  He's just started walking so they put him in the big kid area (a little nerve wracking with as unsteady as he is walking!).  But, Sofia made sure to follow his every step.  My heart, my heart, my heart.  I was beyond touched and proud to know that Sofia was taking her big sister role very seriously.  Then, when we went to pick them up we witnessed it ourselves.  There were plenty of other kids to play with (and Sofia ALWAYS finds a new friend there) but she was playing right alongside her little brother.  And when he got up, she followed.  Such a proud, sweet, beautiful moment.  See, they are nice to each other when we aren't watching :)
