'Merica

The weekend was definitely tough because it was our first 4th of July in a while not being at the lake.  The 4th to us just says SCHNIEDERS and SUMMERSET . . . so we were both pretty bummed out not being at the lake.  But, our good friends here definitely helped ease the pain by having us and a few other close friends and our families over for pool time, barbecue, and fireworks.  It was a blast and the kids definitely had the time of their lives and I think the adults did too!  :)  Well, the guys did with the fireworks any way . . . ha!

Mike even said at the end of the night that it felt like being with family and it definitely was a blast and helped him not be so sad about missing out on being with his family.  Made me happy to hear that, and very true.  It truly was a wonderful time and a great way to spend the holiday.

The boys put on an amazing firework display that we ended up watching inside with the girls because Olivia was terrified of the booms. Gabe was down for the count in a pack n play in the quietest room we could find :) Sofia had never stayed up this late in her whole life but again, so worth it! It's not the 4th without fireworks so I was so happy we had our own little show!  Gabe even got to see some of the neighbors' when we transferred him in a stupor from his pack in play to the car to go home.

 Running uphill . .  .girl was exhausted.  What am I saying, she is STILL exhausted and catching up on sleep from this past weekend!
